It could be a sudden thing coming up, nervousness, or lack of prep. Regardless of the reason, this article will help you learn how to reschedule/cancel the GRE test. First things first, you can only cancel or reschedule your test a minimum of four days before the date of your test. There is an exception in the case of China (10 days prior). Otherwise, you few will not be given back to you.

Rescheduling the Test

Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • You can easily reschedule your GRE test on the internet. You don’t have to visit any specific office.
  • If you don’t want your test fee to be forfeited, reschedule the test 4 days before the test date in the US and everywhere else and 10 days before the test date in China.
  • You will have to pay a certain fee if you decide to reschedule your test.
  • You have to reschedule your test within one year of the actual date.
  • You will need to provide a complete name and confirmation number while altering the test date.
  • Moreover, you cannot exchange fees between Subject and General Tests.
  • If you don’t follow these points, your complete fee will be forfeited.

  • Login to your ETS account for rescheduling the test easily.
  • As an alternative, you can call the following numbers; 1-443-751-4820 or 1-800-473-2255 where you will be asked to provide your full name as well as the appointment number to change the date.

Instructions for Mainland China

  • You can reschedule the test by logging in to your NEEA Account.

Instructions for Hong Kong, China; Taiwan, or Korea

  • People living in these areas can change the date of their test by logging in to their ETS accounts or by reaching out to GRE services.

Instructions for Other Locations

  • ETS account is the simplest way to change the date of your test.
  • As an alternative, you can reach out to RRC

Canceling the GRE Test Registration

The cancelation rules are quite similar to the rescheduling rules. If you are in China, you have to cancel it 10 days before the test to receive half of the fee refund. If you are in the US or anywhere else, you have to cancel it 4 days before the test to get a half-fee refund.
