If you are a first-time GRE test taker, you probably have no clue about where to begin. In this post, we are going to share the right way to prepare and practice for GRE.
Studying for GRE can seem like a chore if you choose not to engage in reading fiction. Various studies show that students who ace the verbal section of GRE majored in philosophy or liberal arts. Even if you haven’t majored in these subjects, adding non-fiction reading to your prep routine keeps things exciting and less tedious.
I am not saying to throw your regular study schedule out of the window but surely add some fun and exciting books into the study mix, and you will thank me later.
Stick to the Study Plan
All the students are great at making study plans, but only a few stick to their schedules. This is truly one of the most critical elements of GRE Best Practice. If you have the luxury of time, make a study plan for at least five months.
While working on your plan, make sure to include plenty of breaks and leave room for errors. Once you have covered a particular section, use GRE practice questions to test your prep, and you will have a clear idea of the progress you have made.
Take Practice Tests
Make sure to take practice tests during multiple phases of the prep. The entire test will take you 3 hours and 45 minutes. Attempting practice tests will take a big chunk of your prep time. Make sure that you are well prepared before taking the test.
Try taking tests in a similar environment as the actual GRE. Do not take breaks between and complete the test in the same time duration to assess your performance. Moreover, it will build up your stamina and will surely give you an edge over those students who haven’t taken practice tests before.
Be Aware of Your Weaknesses
As you take these tests, you will have a crystal clear idea of where you stand. You might be able to score well in specific parts and not so well in other areas. For instance, you can be good at the quantitative section and suck at the verbal section.
Focus on the areas that need more attention, and you will surely get a better score.
Take Help from the Professionals
A lot of students make the mistake of prepping for the GRE test all by themselves. While it is good to study independently, getting help from an online GRE program will increase the chances of getting a higher score. An excellent online GRE preparation program will not only help you with the complex topics but also provide you with resources such as mock tests, prep questions, flashcards, tutorials, assessments, and much more.
